Why we like being in Gascony……
- The gastronomic food of the region, we’ve yet to taste better foie gras, confit or magret de canard
- In June the wonderful scent of garlic in the air
- In July we can’t stop smiling as we pass masses of fields of sunflowers
- Waking up to the views of the Pyrenees and watching the seasons change
- Immersing into village life enjoying time with our neighbours who have now become friends. They have shown us that a good life does not have to be a fast life
-
Bernard at “Le Conte”
Enjoying the many village activities which always involve copious amounts of food and wine. In March it’s the lunch of “La Chasse” where the whole village celebrates the end of the hunting season. In May it’s the “Mi-chui” when the village gathers for a spit roasted lamb, June “Le Conte” (storytelling), August “La Fete” and September the grape harvesting. And of course not to forget the New Celebration “St Sylvestre”
- The balmy summer evenings on our terrace with panoramic views of the rolling French countryside
-
One of our lovely views
Beautiful sunsets and stargazing in one of the most least light polluted areas of France
- Sharing our experiences with others
- Enjoying the warm weather for most of the year
- The fabulous local wines “Cotes de Gascogne” and of course the Armagnac!!
- Living in a medieval village
